The Trial Practice Honors Board ("TPHB") at UC Davis School of Law develops excellence in trial advocacy within an atmosphere of fair and honest competition. It seeks to foster interest in trial work throughout the law school. Each year, TPHB hosts two intra-school competitions that allow King Hall students to develop their advocacy skills against their peers in a safe environment. Students also have the opportunity to earn a spot on one of the external competition teams which compete across the nation, for the opportunity to win championships and individual awards. King Hall's trial teams have consistently placed in or come home champions of the competitions that they participate in. TPHB also hosts the Martin Luther King, Jr. Civil Rights Trial Competition, in which 16 to 20 teams of exceptional advocates from law schools across the country travel to compete in Sacramento, California.
